7 Makeup Hacks Every Woman Should Know

Hacks are creative ways of using items to do things they weren’t meant to do. Today, we’re going to show you some inventive ways that’ll allow you to do beauty-related things better and a lot easier. These are the makeup hacks every woman should know:

1. Pencil Liner that Glides On

Pencil liners are great for precision, but sometimes they don’t go on as smoothly or as dark as we would like them to. Holding your pencil near a flame will heat it up and make it creamier. Just be sure to allow it to cool for 10 to 20 seconds before using it on your eyes.

2. Long-lasting Curled Lashes

Using heating tools on our hair makes it curl faster than the average flexi rod, correct? Well, it stands to reason that the same can be done when it comes to curling our lashes. Instead of holding the lash curler for minutes, heat it slightly with your blow dryer (on a low setting). Let it cool a little then go ahead and curl your lashes. Not only will the process happen faster, but the curl will last longer because of the heat.

3. Oily Nose Be Gone

There’s nothing worse than a nose that shines when you don’t want it to. If you were cursed with an oily nose, here’s how you fix it. First, wipe off any existing sebum (the oily product secreted by our glands) on your nose. Follow it up with a mattifying primer, which will also help with oil control then your foundation to even out your skin tone. At this point, you can contour and highlight your nose as usual or leave it as is. Finish off the look with a matte setting spray and you’re good to go.

4. The No-fail Cat-eye

We’ve all seen the tape method that allows us to achieve crisp lines when using eyeshadow, but did you know you could use it for applying eyeliner as well? Just apply the tape at the desired angle, making sure both eyes are even and begin drawing your wing. No matter how much you “mess up,” when the tape is removed, all you’ll see is a perfect line.

5. More Vibrant Eyeshadows

The key to getting your eyeshadow to pop or appear brighter is to add a white base. It’s as simple as adding a white pencil or primer to the lid (or even the lower lash line) then applying your shadow of choice, or pencil over it; you can add as many or as few colors as you want. The shadow or shadows will appear more vibrant- which you can prove if you do one of your eyes with the white base and one without.

6. No More Puffy Under Eyes

7. Picture Perfect Cupid’s Bow

The worst thing about lining your Cupid’s bow is mistakenly overdrawing one or both sides. All you’ll need to achieve the perfect pout is a lip liner and lipstick that go together. Start by lining your lips with the liner. When you get to your Cupid’s bow, draw a perfect “X” on your upper lip. Finish off by filling in your lips with the lipstick and you’re all set!
